The Kentucky-Tennessee Rivalry is a rivalry between the Kentucky Wildcats and Tennessee Volunteers.
In college football The rivalry is one of the oldest, dating back to 1893. Before the advent of the SimFBA, Tennessee dominated the cross-border rivalry, including a 26 game winning streak from 1985 to 2010.
In college basketball the rivalry has been more historically dominated by Kentucky, and the proximity of the two schools and the intertwining of their school and coaching history has only added to a bitter compeition.
The Kentucky-Tennessee football game previously included a trophy: a wooden beer barrel painted half blue and half orange and was awarded to the winner from 1925 to 1997. In 1998, a fatal alcohol-related car crash involving two UK football players a week before the game forced the end of the exchange.
