The Bowling Green Falcons are coached by PoopyRhinoPickle. The Falcons compete in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Mid-American Conference.
2021 Season
2021 marked the Inaugural SFA Season. After starting 1-3, the Falcons finished the season 7-6 and earned a victory in the Famous Idaho Potato bowl, defeating New Mexico 13-10. QB-turned-RB Jurickson Elflein set multiple MAC Conference marks after leading the conference in rush yards and TDs. Bowling Green led the conference in sacks as well, with OLB Sandy Ranking and DT Chris LaDouceur finishing #1 and #2 in the MAC in sacks.
2022 Season
The 2022 season saw Bowling Green start slow once again, finding themselves 1-2 after losses to Tennessee and Northwestern. What followed was 10 straight wins, including beating #1 ranked Western Michigan, leading the Falcons to their first MAC Championship and College Football Playoffs appearance. The offense was very impressive with QB Dexter Reed throwing for almost 4700 yards and breakout RB Frank Robinson hitting nearly 1200 yards on the ground. The defense was led by tackling machine ILB Evan Mangen and true freshman CB Donald Dingus setting a MAC record with 9 interceptions in a season.
2023 Season
Expectations were high for the Falcons coming into the 2023 season, but the mood was tampered early after star RB Frank Robinson was injured on the first drive of the first game of the season. Injuries proved costly as, for the 2nd straight season, Bowling Green started the season 1-2, and a second injury to Robinson later in the season put all the pressure on sophomore QB Travis Kingery. Kingery responded well, earning 2nd Team All-Conference honors, but despite earning back-to-back MAC Championships and undefeated MAC seasons the Falcons just missed out on the College Football Playoffs. DT Phillip Bell won MAC Defensive Player of the Year after smashing the conference record for TFLs.
